About Amy L. Kratz

In 1973 when I was 9, I was brutally beaten while walking to school. I acquired a head injury that to this day I fight to overcome what has been left behind and I am thankful for what I have gained as a result. Now I hope my blog will help others as I have been helped with strong insights and inspiration. Forty years later I am still an amazing work in progress and I find I am reinventing myself again, Wish me luck.

I love to write and I am in the process of writing a book about my traumatic head injury, being a victim of violent crime, and the amazing way I have recovered. It was a community that backed me and loved me and a family that always stood strong and kept the laughter going. So it is with great amazement and satisfaction that I write this blog http://www.recoveryofthemind.com. I hope that you follow my journeys and I want to help others on their journey.

I also remember that terrible day. Police & Lewes Volunteer firemen out searching for that creep that hurt you. Bless them. Lots of prayers from lots of people. You were on prayer lists at the churches for weeks. Two things resulted from that. Schools began notifying parents if students were absent shortly after that & later on people were leaving outside lights on during the day so any child would know that was a “safe house” & could go there if they were in trouble. Bless you Amy for being strong & an inspiration.
